Description

So you know those people who reinvent themselves using online handles right down to designing the character? I had the idea to do that oh, a year ago to the three faces of Skye: ObsidianSkye (the jewelry crafter), LadyKnightSkye (the visual artist), and KnightSkyeSymphony (the writer).  My idea was to pixel doll each design and then use the dolls in the deviantIDs for each account - I've already split off my lit account at KnightSkyeSymphony and was planning to make an account just for my jewelry which I was going to also sell on Etsy.

And then life happened.

Took me several months of opening up GIMP, doing one line of pixels, and then closing the application, but I finally sat down today because of my raging cabin fever (DAMN YOU WINTER STORM PAX! *snickerisoundlikemegatronsnicker*) and finished the doll.

So, the design. When I sat down to design each of the Three Faces, I designed all of them to be slightly anachronistic in their personal style. Symphony's outfit is based off of a real life German Renaissance era fashion, known retroactively as the Cranach Gown after the artist whose paintings of women almost exclusively feature it. I fell in love with the style when I found a pattern for it at an SCA event awhile back. In a way, I toned down some of the flashier aspects of the original gowns while added a small dash of 50s flare (I can't help but think of the 50s when I see those peekaboo heels with a knee length skirt).
